Courses
Confetti deliver a wide range of pioneering courses, designed to equip students with the industry relevant technological expertise to give them the competitive edge in the Creative industries. Confetti specialise in music technology, video production, animation and DJ courses. Courses range from 12 hour part-time One to One tuition, to full-time courses, from foundation to degree level. All courses involve access to the latest equipment, software, state-of-the-art studios and specialist tutors.

Confetti also work in partnership with both De Montfort University and Castle College to deliver a range of qualifications - see below for details.

FdSC DIGITAL VIDEO AND BROADCAST PRODUCTION
Content: offers students the opportunity to develop understanding, ability and the practical experience necessary to enter media related industries with a particular emphasis on digital video and broadcast production.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Duration: 2 years
Target: Those wanting to enter the rapidly changing world of digital video and broadcast technology.
Entry Requirements: A minimum of 80 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of one Advanced GCE or equivalent, or equivalent qualifications.
FdSc Foundation Degree in Music Technology
Content: The Foundation Degree in Music Technology is designed to equip you with industry-recognised sound production and engineering skills. This means learning and evaluating principles and practices of music production and sound engineering in a professional recording environment and exploring a wide range of digital and analogue equipment and industry standard music production software.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Duration: This is a 2 year full-time course.
Target: The course is designed to prepare students for the demand of commercial recording sessions and it is the perfect grounding for a career as a professional engineer or producer.
Entry Requirements: 4 GCSEs grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English. BTEC National Diploma in Music Technology (or equivalent).
INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC TECHNOLOGY
Content: To get on in the music industry, you need a lot of skills. This course will get you started. You will learn DJ Skills, Studio Skills and how to set up an event.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Target: A hands-on course for those with an interest in Music Technology.
Entry Requirements: Apart from an interest in the subject, you will need a willingness to learn, basic problem solving skills and the ability to work in groups.
NCFE LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN MUSIC TECHNOLOGY
Content: There will be opportunities to work using your own initiative and create a piece of original music using computer software. Your knowledge will be expanded in true 'workshop' style lectures. The studio group environment is devoted to practical learning by building as many musical pieces as the schedule allows, then mixing them for a final group CD.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Target: Those wanting to advance their music technology education.
Entry Requirements: You need 4 GCSEs grade A-D (or equivalent) including Maths and English and some IT ability.
NCFE LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN MUSIC TECHNOLOGY (MIX DJ SKILLS)
Content: This course will give you experience in mixing, beat juggling, scratching, recording, sampling, editing and production, all aiming to build your confidence with using DJ equipment, performing DJ techniques and the use of music production studios.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Target: This course is for those with an interest in learning how to DJ and dance music production.
Entry Requirements: You need 4 GCSEs at any grade (or equivalent) and an interest in DJ skills.
BTEC FIRST DIPLOMA IN MUSIC (TECHNOLOGY)
Content: You will learn how a recording studio and computer workstation are used to make professional beats, what a producer does - including other jobs in the music industry and how to successfully market and put on a live show.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Target: The BTEC First Diploma in Music (Technology) is aimed at school leavers who have no experience in Music Technology and are looking to improve their academic skills, whilst exploring different areas of the music business.
Entry Requirements: You need 4 GCSEs at any grade (or equivalent), including basic IT skills.
BTEC FIRST DIPLOMA IN MEDIA (TECHNOLOGY)
Content: This course will give you skills in video production, audio production and animation that will be used to develop your own 'multi-media products' to assist in achieving your creative potential.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Duration: This is a full time course that lasts from September to July.
Target: This course is ideal for those wanting an introduction to the creative technologies found in the media industry.
Entry Requirements: You need 4 GCSEs at any grade, (or equivalent), including basic IT skills.
BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN MEDIA (MOVING IMAGE)
Content: Working often in small production teams you will gain experience and a good working knowledge of the latest techniques in using cameras, lighting, location sound-recording, graphics and editing. In addition you will research and produce work in a range of genres.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Duration: This is a full-time course, lasting 2 years.
Target: This course is for those wanting to advance their knowledge and skills in video production and establish an underpinning knowledge in current production and post production techniques.
Entry Requirements: 4 GCSEs grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English. Some IT and/or Media experience.
BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN MEDIA TECHNOLOGY
Content: This hands-on course is designed to give you competence in using Music Technology and provide relevant theoretical knowledge and practical experience. This means learning how to use professional recording studio equipment, learning about the music industry, pop music history and developing creative skills in using music software.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Duration: The course normally lasts for 15 - 18 months.
Target: This course is for those wanting to advance their knowledge and skills in recording technology, studio applications and the music industry.
Entry Requirements: You will be expected to have 4 GCSEs grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English and some Music Technology experience.
BsC HONS DEGREE IN AUDIO AND RECORDING TECHNOLOGY
Content: Practical skills applicable to the Audio Industry are complemented by studies that will develop an understanding of the science and technology relevant to audio and recording systems and production environments. You will also learn how to integrate sound with other media such as radio, video, multimedia and the web.
Full-time / Part-time: Full-time
Duration: This is a 3 year, full-time, course
Target: Those wanting a career in studio recording, mixing, mastering and post production, studio design and installation, film, television, multimedia sound integration and broadcast sound engineering.
PART TIME SHORT COURSES (16 TO 18 YR OLDS)
Content: The part-time short courses at Confetti are flexible packages designed to give you experience in using Creative Technologies. Different courses teach you about using computer music software, using a small recording studio, using software to edit and produce short films, animation and using turntables and computers to build DJ skills. The courses offered in the areas of Music Technology, Video Technology, Media Technology and DJ Technology will teach you how to use equipment such as Cubase, Reason, Adobe Premiere, Flash, DJ decks and more. If you complete a course successfully you will be awarded National Open College Network (NOCN) qualifications.
Full-time / Part-time: Part-time
Duration: The length of the courses vary, depending on which course you choose. You will need to spend some time at Confetti and you will also be expected to complete homework exercises outside class time. You will be given the specific details of your timetable when you begin your course.
Target: 16-18 year olds
