The London Education Forums
The London Team works together with Skillset Media Academies in London and the Further Education sector through two forums: these are made up from representatives of HE and FE institutions across the capital. As there many diverse educational institutions within London, HE and FE are the focus of separate forums.
The aim of both groups is to provide an arena for discussion on matters arising in HE or FE in the region, and have input into the development and implementation of new sector strategies. Crucially these Forums allow Skillset to build a two-way dialogue on issues affecting Education in the capital, including partnership networks and employer engagement.
The objectives of these groups are to enable education institutions, training providers and key regional stakeholders to:
- Receive information about current developments in education and skills;
- Discuss key issues at a strategic level;
- Advise on qualifications development for sectors and occupations;
- Consider the implications of developments and identify creative and innovative solutions to potential problems;
- Participate in the on-going development and review of the sector qualifications strategy;
- Feed into the work of Skillset's Industry Skills Panels, facilitating a two-way dialogue between the supply and demand sectors within the Region.
The meetings take place every four months or as deemed appropriate by members.
We currently have strong links with the Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) Network within the further education sector
For further information about joining either of the forums, please contact Triston Wallace, Skillset London Regional Manager.
