Are you an individual looking for a training bursary in Scotland?

Looking for a cash grant?  Individual support is available here.  You could get up to a maximum of £2,500 to spend on training via the Skillset Scotland Training Fund.

  • Do you have professional experience in the film, TV, animation, computer games or interactive media industries?
  • Are you a resident in Scotland?
  • Can you show us how training you apply for will be good for your career?
  • Have you chosen a course and been accepted by the training provider?  And
  • Have you applied for a structured course with a recognised training provider?
  • Are you able to submit a bursary application form at least 5 days before the training course is due to start?

Skillset Scotland is awarding training bursaries to individuals to support attendance at training courses that will benefit their careers in the screen industries including film, television, interactive media, animation and computer games. Some qualifications may also be supported. You can apply to attend training in the following priority areas: business skills training; craft and technical skills; new technologies and health & safety.You can apply for these training bursaries if you:

To apply for a Skillset Scotland Training Bursary, you need to download both the application and monitoring forms, complete them in full and return them to the address supplied on the forms.

1. Read the Training Bursary Funding Programme Guidelines. These tell you everything you need to know about the scheme and whether or not you are eligible for funding. The training bursaries guidelines have further details.  Please read them carefully.

2. Complete a Training Bursaries Application Form. The application form is currently available to download in MS Word format. Please save it to your computer before completing it electronically.

3. Complete an Individuals Monitoring Form. This form is not part of your application but provides us with important information which will help us to ensure that our application process is equal and open. The information you provide will be used for monitoring purposes only.

To apply
Download the application and monitoring forms above, complete them in full and return them to the address shown.

If your application is successful
You will receive an offer letter, which states terms and conditions of your bursary award from Skillset Scotland. All bursaries are split into 2 instalments: 80% for the first payment and 20% for the second. The first payment of 80% will be paid once we receive your signed offer letter and bank details. The final  payment of 20% is paid upon completion of your evaluation report. Download the evaluation report below and send it back to us to release the final 20% of your bursary.  It's that simple.
