New industry qualifications
We have been involved in developing new qualifications that industry agrees will mean graduates are ready to work and often have more success in finding work.
New courses include:
- Computer Games Development at Abertay University and University of the West of Scotland (UWS)
- Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) courses include: Radio and Television; Hair and Make up; Professional writing
Radio training
- In partnership with Radio Clyde's Cash for Kids and the Scottish Government, our Determined to Broadcast tour bus, complete with its top of the range radio recording studio set out to increase the skills of young people. Students in years S2 - S4 booked the bus to visit their schools. Training on radio production skills were learned by the schools with teams taking on the roles within radio production. This involved making a radio programme from first having an idea, through to scripting and working as a team to build knowlege of the radio industry and the confidence skills of the pupils. Their finished shows also received transmission, giving the pupils the chance to think about a career in radio.
