Southeast facts
As a strategic organisation, we work with employers, key partners and stakeholders to develop strategies and action plans, which ensure the South East creative media industry have access to the skills and talent they require to remain competitive.
To help infom the strategic work in the region are two key forums through which we interface with industry and education.
Skillset 's South East team convenes the South East Skills Panel to guide its work in the region and to implement a Regional Skills Strategy and Skills Action Plan, as well as the Government's 14–19 Agenda. The panel has representatives from across the variety of creative media industries, including some of the region's key employers and is currently chaired by Mike Hapgood, Head of BBC South.
Alongside the employer panel the South East team also convenes the South East Education Focus Group which comprises representatives from HE and FE, the Skillset Screen and Media Academies, and other strategic partners such as the Learning & Skills Council, South East of England Development Agency and Aim Higher. For more information on this group, please click here - South East EFG.
