Media

Our practice-based programmes for the media that integrate academic theory with professional practice include degrees in Advertising, Broadcast Journalism, Video Production and Media Communications as well as Editorial and Advertising Photography.
Meanwhile our theory-based degree in Film Studies allows students to evaluate the significance of film at social and economic levels.

The level of innovation continues for 2005 entry when we introduce new degrees. Our degree in Photojournalism will enable you to deliver professional images to tight deadlines in highly unpredictable situations. Subject to final approval, we also plan to bring in BA (Hons) Public Relations and BA (Hons) Publishing.

Art and Design
Our Foundation Studies programme in Art and Design is one of the largest and best regarded in the region. Other Art and Design programmes include Design for Interactive Media, separate Fine Art degrees in Digital Media, Painting and Drawing and Photography plus degrees in Graphic Design and, new for 2005, BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation.

Postgraduate Programmes and Degrees by Research
For postgraduate study we offer a Masters in Fine Art, which allows students to develop projects in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, time-based media and photography while also encouraging intellectual enquiry, technical ability and conceptual clarity.
Our Masters degrees in Film and Media have been designed to promote a high level of skill in the aesthetic appraisal and critical analysis of still and moving images.

Subject to final approval, we will introduce three new taught postgraduate programmes in 2005: MA Digital Cinema Production, MA Broadcast Journalism and MA Photography.
Research degree supervision is also offered in a comprehensive range of practical and theory based approaches to Fine Art, Design, Media and Film.

Above all, Pittville Campus is about nurturing your creativity within a rigorous academic framework. It's about developing your talents to embark with confidence on a professional career. If you want to learn how to apply your creativity, Pittville is the place for you.
