Encounters Short Film Festival
18th - 23rd November 2008 at the Watershed, Bristol.
Combining the very best live action shorts with the cream of animation, the new 'Encounters' is a major celebration of the present and future of short film-making, and will feature industry forums, five days of the best international and British shorts around plus masterclasses, workshops, networking events and a prestigious awards ceremony.

Animated Exeter: 13th - 21st February 2009
Established in 1999 to bring the best of the world of animation cinema to audiences in Exeter and the South West. A showcase to encourage the wealth of creative talent in the region, both amateur and professional. Animated Exeter is gearing up for a spectacular festival in 2006. Featuring animation screenings from around the world and the very best of British back with the British Animation Awards, workshops, residencies and exhibitions. Showcasing both traditional craft techniques and new and developing computer generated imagery from the UK and overseas.

Screen Writers Festival Cheltenham:
The world's first major festival exclusively devoted to the art, craft and business of international scriptwriting is to be inaugurated this summer. The event is the brainchild of GMG members David Bill, chairman of the Cheltenham Film Studios, and David Pearson, a former BBC executive and award winning producer/director who is managing director of Arturi Films. Celebrated UK producer Stephen Woolley, who made his directorial debut with the new Brian Jones film Stoned, has agreed to be on Screenwriters Festival board of directors. The project has also been backed by Cracker screenwriter Jimmy McGovern and BBC chairman Michael Grade.

Swindon Film Festival:
The 3rd annual Swindon Film Festival took place in November 2005. Featuring 10 days of film at no less than 8 different venues, the festival brought the best of film from around the world to Swindon. The programme featured a range of different films from Icelandic road movies to heart-wrenching Iranian drama, from big wave surfing to Victorian England, and from award-winning short films to the hottest new releases. This year also saw the introduction of a number of new events including a fabulous film and food evening at Swindon Arts Centre.

Wildscreen Festival:
Wildscreen is one of the world's leading natural history film festival. The Wildscreen Festival is the world's largest, most prestigious and influential event for the wildlife and environmental filmmaking industry. Its aim is to encourage and applaud excellence in producing films about the natural world, and so increase the global viewing public's awareness and understanding of nature and the urgent need to conserve it.

The Cornwall Film Festival:
The Cornwall Film Festival was set up in 2001 screening a range of Cornish films and featuring premieres and Govynn Kernewek offered a production award to the best idea for a new short film in the Cornish Language. The festival is a vibrant festival focussing on Cornish filmmaking, offering local and national premieres, masterclasses, workshops, discussions and parties for everyone from the enthusiast to the professional. It is held each year in Falmouth.
