Y&H VTR North
VTR North is a film and TV post production facility based in the centre of Leeds. They offer HD and SD editing, visual effects, 3D animation, motion graphics, radio commercial production and sound design. In addition they offer a digital playout service, dubbing, transfers, Mpeg encoding and DVD authoring.
Recent credits include title and graphics for Whats Eating Victoria Beckham? (Channel 5), the new James Morrison promo, 'Undiscovered' (Bikini/Polydor) and Hi-Def production and effects for Tigers Attack (Discovery).
VTR North are currently working with Skillset to help establish First Post North. First Post is the entry level training scheme for employees in post production industry which we will be rolling out across the North West and Yorkshire and is currently operating in London with the support of the London Development Agency and participating companies. First Post is a modular scheme covering technical, commercial and customer skills for approximately 20 trainees based in a variety of companies in the facilities sector. It has been created by the Post Production Training Initiative (PPTI) and Skillset, with the support of UK Post, APRS, ChEFF, BKSTS and IVCA, to help employers provide structured development for runners. The scheme has been devised in order to meet a proven need and developed with input from most of the facilities houses to ensure that it is appropriate and adaptable to up-to-date practice. VTR North are part of the steering group that are helping to make this scheme suitable for the industry in these regions and recruit a training provider to work with.
