The Department of Electronic Imaging and Media Communications (EIMC) at the University of Bradford's School of Informatics offers exciting opportunities for school-leavers, and mature and part-time students in a range of subjects, including television, digital and mobile media, animation, games design and the internet. These courses are kept relevant and up-to-date by an Industrial Advisory Board and the involvement of practising professionals to deliver key parts of the programmes.

EIMC is engaged in an exciting and forward-looking programme of teaching, research, and links with industry - at a local, national and international level. It has a unique partnership with the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television, providing students with access to the museum's facilities, including a broadcast specification television studio. The museum staff teach on the degree programmes and the museum itself plays host to the EIMC's degree show in June.

Pioneering initiatives are included in each undergraduate and postgraduate course and each is strongly committed to interdisciplinary collaborations within the University and beyond. The courses provide the components for tomorrow's digital future and are helping to shape it. A recently completed cutting edge Digital Arts Centre supports provision for interdisciplinary art, design and digital photography with the support of the Higher Education Funding Council. This complements the existing facilities, such as the Avid edit suites, high definition cameras and Vicon motion capture suite.
