Bite the Mango Film Festival 19 - 25 September 2008

Hosted at the National Media Museum in Bradford, the 14th Bite the Mango Film Festival brings audiences an impressive collection of the very best cinema from all four corners of the world drawing influences from Africa, South Asia, Central America and the Far East showcasing an eclectic mix of features, shorts and documentaries and a selection of master classes, seminars and workshops delivered by industry professionals.

Sheffield Doc/Fest

The 15th Doc/Fest will be held in Sheffield from 5-9 November 2008

Sheffield Doc/Fest brings the international documentary family together to celebrate the art and business of documentary making for five days in November. Doc/Fest is a film festival, industry session programme and market place, offering pitching opportunities, discussion panels and in-depth filmmaker masterclasses, as well as a wealth of inspirational documentary films from across the globe.

Doc Day Afternoon 

Venue: Sheffield Hallam University
Date: Wednesday 5 November 2008
Who it's for: 16-19 year olds

DocDay Afternoon is an inspiring, intensive and entertaining day of hands-on workshops, screenings and filmmaking surgeries. It is for A-level and first year university students (or 16-19 year olds).

Participants must all be working on a short documentary at the time of the workshop, whether individually or in groups. You'll should aim to send a rough cut of your documentary to the organisers by 15 October 2008.

The aim is to get finished 4 minute docs ready to put out in the world. Some of the best documentary practitioners from around the UK - directors, producers, editors and commissioners - will be there to help with the production process.

Leeds International Film Festival
4 - 16  November 2008

The 22nd Leeds International Film festival is being held 4 - 16 November.

Over thirteen days Leeds presents more than 200 screenings and events in a dozen venues to thousands of filmgoers eager to discover what is really happening in contemporary cinema.
